It was the first victory for Jörg in Dortmund, the latest Helvetic win in this race was from 1998 (Hanskurt Brand).

6-days of Dortmund, 30th October to 4th November 2003
European Champions in front

The European Champions from Germany and also last years winners in Dortmund, 2 x Andy Kappes and Beikrich, are leading the 6-days of Dortmund before to nights finale in the famous Westfalenhallen. They are in the same lap as Risi – Betschart and only five points separates them. One lap behind is the team Aldag – McGrory with the highest point-score, and Stam – Slippens, far behind on points. Who wins? Our guess: Risi – Betschart or Aldag – McGrory.

Overall Dortmund 6-days after 5th day:
1 Andreas Kappes – Andreas Beikirch (GER), 282 p., 2 Bruno Risi – Kurt Betschart (SUI), 277 p., at 1 lap: 3 Rolf Aldag (GER) – Scott McGrory (AUS), 296 p., 4 Robert Slippens – Danny Stam (NED), 201 p., at 6 laps: 5 Jimmi Madsen – Michael Sandstψd (DEN), 95 p., at 8 laps: 6 Matthew Gilmore (BEL) – Marty Nothstein (USA), 170 p., at 11 laps: 7 Guido Fulst – Andreas Müller (GER), 114 p., at 12 laps: 8 Franz Stocher (AUT) – Lars Teutenberg (GER), 73 p., at 14 laps: 9 Ronny Lauke – Thorsten Rund (GER), 100 p., at 18 laps: 10 Bradley Wiggins – Robert Hayles (GBR), 53 p., at 19 laps: 11 Jens Lehmann – Sebastian Siedler (GER), 179 p., at 22 laps: 12 Gerd Dörich – Stefan Löffler (GER), 113 p., at 30 laps: 13 Erik Weispfennig – Jan Bratkowski (GER), 62 p. Jörg before the finale
Before the finale evening of the stayers Karstadt Championat the Swiss champion Peter Jörg is again in leading position. But at victory for Carsten Podlesch or perhaps Stefan Klare are still within possibilities.

Three teams on zero

No big changes in the overall in Dortmund after the Sunday program. Kappes – Beikirch managed to go on the same lap as Aldag – McGrory and Risi – Betschart, due to a bonuslap for passing 200 points. But look at Risi – Betschart, they are only 6 points away from a bonuslap which will again bring them alone in front.

1 Rolf Aldag (GER) – Scott McGrory (AUS), 244 p., 2 Andreas Kappes – Andreas Beikirch (GER), 216 p., 3 Bruno Risi – Kurt Betschart (SUI), 194 p., at 1 lap: 4 Robert Slippens – Danny Stam (NED), 146 p., at 5 laps: 5 Jimmi Madsen – Michael Sandstψd (DEN), 55 p., at 6 laps: 6 Matthew Gilmore (BEL) – Marty Nothstein (USA), 135 p., at 8 laps: 7 Guido Fulst – Andreas Müller (GER), 94 p., 8 Franz Stocher (AUT) – Lars Teutenberg (GER), 66 p., at 11 laps: 9 Ronny Lauke – Thorsten Rund (GER), 81 p., at 12 laps: 10 Bradley Wiggins – Robert Hayles (GBR), 44 p., at 14 laps: 11 Jens Lehmann – Sebastian Siedler (GER), 144 p., at 17 laps: 12 Gerd Dörich – Stefan Löffler (GER), 84 p., at 22 laps: 13 Erik Weispfennig – Jan Bratkowski (GER), 57 p. Ab.: Frank Kowatschitsch – Daniel Palicki (GER).

Klare still in front
Stefan Klare is the best stayer in Dortmund so far. He won the first of Sundays two stages and ended 3 rd in the second. And that was just enough to hold the overall lead with one point ahead of Carsten Podlesch, the winner of the second race.

Aldag – McGrory challenges Risi - Betschart

The Saturday night in Dortmund brought a new team on top of the overall: Rolf Aldag and Scott McGrory are now leading with and overwhelming total of 207 points, the highest point-score so far and enough to give them another bonus-lap, bringing them equal with Risi – Betschart. Kappes – Beikirch and Slippens – Stam are respectfully one lap behind.
From the results you can see, that new teams has been build: Gilmore is now with Wiggins and Fulst with Kowatschitsch. Unfortunately we are not able to inform you, what has happened to Palicki (partner of Kowatschitsch), Hayles (Wiggins), Müller (Fulst) and Nothstein (Gilmore).

Risi – Betschart masters in Dortmund

Like in Grenoble it was also in Dortmund a Swiss team, who dominated the second evening of the 6-days. The end of the day (or night) saw Risi – Betschart alone in the lead, one lap ahead of Aldag – McGrory, Kappes – Beikirch and Stam Slippens. But note that the Dutch team is very close the first 100 points and the bonus-lap, which will bring the equal with the team from Switzerland. Danish team Madsen – Sandstψd is two laps down, and Fulst – Müller are on four laps.

Overall Dortmund 6-days after 2nd day:

Hard start in Dortmund

The two best teams from the 6-days of Amsterdam was also the strongest teams on the first evening of the 62nd 6-days of Dortmund in the famous Westfalenhalle: Bruno Risi – Kurt Betschart and Robert Slippens – Danny Stam. And it looks like is was a hard start. Risi – Betschart and Slippens – Stam ended up one lap ahead of Aldag – McGrory and Kappes – Beikirch, and teams like Gilmore – Nothstein and Madsen – Sandstψd lost two laps already on the first evening. Not to speak about British team Wiggins – Hayles, relegated to five laps. Gilmore – Nothstein took a little bit of a revenge in the Brinkhoff’s No. 1 Supercup, 1.000 meter time-trial for teams. With 58,04 sec. they recorded the best time of the evening, beating Aldag – McGrory with more than a second (59,07). Still at bit to go to the track-record 56,92 sec. established by the same team during last years 6-days.
