Fans were dissapointed to hear than neither Hill, Neiwand or Ferris would be riding the sprint.Neiwand was said to have fallen down some stairs and injured a leg. Hill never intended to ride the world cup having already qualified for the World Championships, this event "World Cup" was considered a distraction from the "Maïn Event.
